The valve may not have been used but it is not new. The use of plastic dip tubes in valves in the U.S. was halted by the DOT in the mid- to late-1980's for fear that they would melt and the resultant glomp would block the valve, all such valves (made by US Divers and ScubaPro) were recalled and it's been metal tubes ever since. To the best of my knowledge, the current metal tubes have the same threading as the retired plastic ones did. If you're having a hard time finding a shop that carries the part, you can visit the Aqualung (successor to US Divers) dealer locater at http://www.aqualung.com/home.html or call them at (760-) 597-5000.nitrox30:I have tryed all the dive shops none have it the valve is allmost new ( not ever used) It is a standard corse thred so I should be able to find one sooner or later

nitrox30:Can any one tell me where I can find a replacement dip tube brass or steel for an old US divers tank valve. The orginal one was plastic and must be replaced?
