Perhaps, it is not really a problem, but I agree with DA AquaMaster: it can be an advantage to avoid any cavities that could collect salt deposits and silt. If you are careful rinsing or soaking it is not a big problem (we have been dealing with it for decades), but it does tend to protect a spot that is not easy to inspect from the outside.

Also i would not even consider MK 11 with the V250 second stage, Why? because the Mk 17 /V250and Mk 25/V250 most likely come as a package and will be a better deal,
The MK17 Would be my chose for all conditions.
If you want to take advantage of $ savings go with the MK11/S555 this makes more since.
I would think hard and get some pricing before you purchase.
DA Aquamaster knows alot about scubapro ,so ask lots of questions.

thanks for all the info. but, we had a scuba flea market in Houston this past weekend. i ended snagging a brand new Apeks ATX50 for next to nothing. a lds owner had a bunch of stock left he was trying to unload. this reg should serve me well for awhile. at least until, my next reg purchase lol.

That is a really good reg,you should be ok for 10 years+ -
Good Choice!
