Some people should be denied passports...!!

THESE ARE ACTUAL COMPLAINTS RECEIVED BY
"THOMAS COOK VACATIONS" FROM DISSATISFIED CUSTOMERS :

1. "I think it should be explained in the brochure that the local convenience store does not sell proper biscuits like custard creams or ginger nuts."

2. "It's lazy of the local shopkeepers in Puerto Vallarta to close in the afternoons. I often needed to buy things during 'siesta' time -- this should be banned."

3. "On my holiday to Goa in India , I was disgusted to find that almost every restaurant served curry. I don't like spicy food."

4. "We booked an excursion to a water park but no-one told us we had to bring our own swimsuits and towels. We assumed it would be included in the price"

5. "The beach was too sandy. We had to clean everything when we returned to our room."

6. "We found the sand was not like the sand in the brochure. Your brochure shows the sand as white but it was more yellow."

7. "They should not allow topless sunbathing on the beach. It was very distracting for my husband who just wanted to relax."

8. "No-one told us there would be fish in the water. The children were scared."

9. "Although the brochure said that there was a fully equipped kitchen, there was no egg-slicer in the drawers."

10. "We went on holiday to Spain and had a problem with the taxi drivers as they were all Spanish."

11. "The roads were uneven and bumpy, so we could not read the local guide book during the bus ride to the resort. Because of this, we were unaware of many things that would have made our holiday more fun."

12. "It took us nine hours to fly home from Jamaica to England . It took the Americans only three hours to get home. This seems unfair."

13. "I compared the size of our one-bedroom suite to our friends' three-bedroom and ours was significantly smaller."

14. "The brochure stated: 'No hairdressers at the resort'. We're trainee hairdressers and we think they knew and made us wait longer for service."

15. "There were too many Spanish people there. The receptionist spoke Spanish, the food was Spanish. No one told us that there would be so many foreigners."

16. "We had to line up outside to catch the boat and there was no air-conditioning."

17. "It is your duty as a tour operator to advise us of noisy or unruly guests before we travel."

18. "I was bitten by a mosquito. The brochure did not mention mosquitoes."

19. "My fiance and I requested twin-beds when we booked, but instead we were placed in a room with a king bed. We now hold you responsible and want to be re-reimbursed for the fact that I became
pregnant. This would not have happened if you had put us in the room that we booked."

All I can say is that if anyone threw my gear off a boat, the crew would have about 2 seconds to stop me from assisting the thrower off the boat to retrieve it.

(Note: I'm in no way a DM, just a cranky young guy who believes in suitable retribution.)

I have to agree. I don't have many of these kinds of conflicts but when they do happen I'm not likely to back down.

Last one I can remember like this was a woman on an overland tour I took in Africa in 1989. She was... well... one of those New Yorkers who probably had a gun in her car and for whom the world consisted of three things

Me
Me
and
Me

We didn't get along.

at all....

At one point during the trip (which was a camping trip) we were camped in a field that caught fire during the night. Person XX (whose name I shouldn't repeat here incase she rises from teh depths of hell to respond to this post) slept, of course, alone in a tent. Nobody could get along well enough with her to even sleep in the same space.

Anyway, the field was on fire, as I said, and the winds were going to blow it right over our camp site. I had gone out with a Swiss guy to check on the tempo and we had made an estimation that the fire would reach the camp in about 45 min to 1 hour. So we woke everyone and said we had to go etc etc.

Everyone except person XX. I shook her tent and said that she needed to get up because there was an emergency and we had to go.

Her exact words to me were, (and I quote), "**** you you stupid irritating mother ****er... It's 3am and I'm not moving an inch until 7"

I said, "ok. sleep well". and left her.

about 10 min before we really needed to leave the guy from the tour company who drove the truck asked me if everyone was onboard. I said Yes.

He pointed out the tent and said, "what about that tent". I said, "person X won't get out until 7am".

..... he thought about it for what seemed like about a min and finally said to me, "I understand but we really can't do this.".

I said, "OK, I'll take care of it."

Then I grabbed the three big English guys who were on the trip and with the 4 of us we just pulled out the tent pegs, rolled the tent up with her inside it and threw it on top of the truck. Then we left.

The screaming was insane. You'd think we were trying to burn her alive (which was, in fact, the plan). She started screaming my name and saying things like, "You ****ing bastard, I'm going to kill you. GET ME THE **** OUT OF HERE!!!"

naturally I said, "at 7am I'll come and help you".

I've never been so hacked.

I'm beginning to see a lot more rudeness in the younger generations (50 and younger) in medical practice as well. When I first got into medicine, people were so nice and respectful to medical staff. Now they treat us like fast food operators-or worse. Yelling and screaming, threatening when they don't get what they want. Times are not what they used to be and people are just not the same.
Not to go off topic but I can understand the people being upset at the Medical professions....EVERY time I have been to the Doctor I have Been early for my scheduled apt and yet I am left sitting in the waiting room for a good 20-30 minutes past my Appt time, then I am shown to little room by a nurse whom does the blood pressure etc etc.. then I am left in the office for another good 20 minutes before the Doc even comes in to look at my problem by now I have been their not seen by the Doctor for 45-50 minutes past my scheduled apt time...he looks for 5 minutes writews out some prescription for some Drug with evil side effects Bills me a Crazy amount for the services ive received...To me my time is worth just as much as that docs time so to over schedule patients to the point that people are waiting an hour beyond their apt time...Well I get pissed also. Don't want to be treated like a fast food operator...don't treat patients like fast food....Just sayin !
I would change Drs.

FWIW, I always bring a book when I visit my doctor and allow plenty of time for my appointment. The fact is that some folks need a longer session with him than is planned for, and the schedule can usually only slip one direction.

It's difficult for me to believe that any of the people making these complaints were smart enough to actually complete an application for a Passport successfully. They must have had help. PLEASE STOP HELPING THE TRULY STUPID! LET NATURE TAKE ITS COURSE!

Those sound like the type of people that post reviews on tripadvisor that are so out of wack

Anyone ever have to tell off an overbearing DM? I had one get in my face recently and all I could think was seriously, WTF?

That street goes both ways tracydr. I've definitely dealt with a lot more rude and impatient doctors in the last 10 years than I have all my life. And I grew up with underpaid overworked military doctors. That says a lot.

I think, in general, people are more stressed than they used to be and this translates to poor behavior across all walks of life. I do find that in places I travel that are "slower" paced the people seem calmer, friendlier and more willing to let things roll off their backs.
