Ok, just so everyone knows, a west wind is not your friend when it comes to vis. What was 40 -60 was down to maybe 15, with all kinds of junk in the water and easy to kick up on the bottom.

Still, diving was fun (just not as pretty).

No trip report is a report without a nudi pictures.. so..........

Sunday, got to do whitehill... my favorite reef... and I had my macro setup with me. So the first thing we see is a huge turtle...one of the biggest I have ever seen...and I have a macro lens.. so here is a picture of one of it's fins:

However, shortly after that, I found an anemone, and to my surprise there were 3 different types of shrimp on it (turns out there was a fourth, but it was not one I could see:

there were frog fish everywhere, and octopus....and cardinal fish. A lot of the other small reef fish seemed missing, but with all the frog fish, that was not a surprise:

I usually hate the rubble pile... but this time, I accidentally kicked up a rather neat fish, one I had touched a long time ago, and that time I was in so much pain I never got to see it.

The electric ray is one fish I did not have pictures of, glad I made the dive.

Took lots of other pictures, but the ray and the shrimp were my favorites.

Nice pics!

You can consistently find torpedo rays on night dives at Ft. Pickens. The one time I dove the Whiskey Wreck, there were a half-dozen or so there too.

Love the shrimp pics!

Puffer, great pics as always but I hope you go back to posting them at a larger size. The small size just doesn't do your photos justice; so much of what makes your pics great is in the details.

Am running out of space on scubaboard for images.. and if I do a direct upload, they come out this size. You are correct, hard to see the eggs in the one Pederson shrimp at this size.

Will start removing older images tonight to make room.
