Not the optimal condition this weekend but I want to dive this site and take a look. I have seen sea horses, large black ones, and all the other gulf critters here. Its a fun dive. Sunday low tide is 11:23 am. So, anyone interested, I will arrive and start checking the condition at 10:30 am. And, plan on entering the water around 11:00 am.

I may be game...... And I have your computer! I take it your regs are out of the shop?

Nope, don't have my reg back yet, but, it should be ready. Thanks for the reminder, I need to give them a call. Jeff, I am talking about right under the Destin Pass bridge on the west side. There is a little road off the east bound lane of 98 just before the bridge that heads down to a little beach. The bridge columns usually holds critters. And, the bottom slopes of to about 25 feet as you head toward the channel. In the past I have seen alot of tropicals, sea horses, and big schools of baitfish. My last dive there was during a red tide. I wanted to see it for myself so I did a solo night dive. Once is enough :D Alot of dead and dying fish and the crabs were having a field day. I think Sunday will be better.

I don't mean to butt in....I know you guys know what you are doing. But, a lot of people read old threads when they are thinking about diving Destin. I think we should note that it is not a good idea to dive the bridge at low tide. Most of the time you will just get a bunch of brown water from the bay, and if the tide flips....a ripping current can pull you out in to the ship channel. I picked two guys up in our boat one time after they drifted out in to the channel.

Yea, I would rather a high tide, but, my last dive viz was about 10 feet, so, I am not expecting much. High tide Sunday morning is 1221 am. I would not mind a night dive. Is there more interest in a night dive under the bridge?

Yes, I saw the tides are all messed up right now. I am always game for a night dive...but I am out for the next two weekends. Let us know how things go Sunday.

Will, do, sorry you cant make it. My reg. will be ready so I am good to go for the weekend. Plus, a dive buddy of mine is going to ride over with me to Destin. So, two of us are definite, the more the merrier. Mr X, do you have a preference, night dive versus Sunday morning dive?

Looks like everyone wants to do the night dive. High tide is 1221 am Sunday morning. If I remember correctly, daylight saving does not end until around 2 am sometime, so, 1221 is before we "fall back" Can anyone back my up on this? Three divers or definite and the more the merrier. I plan to get there at 2300 and start the dive as soon as tidal flow allows. I am going to bring my propane fish cooker for heat should we want to stay for a second dive.
