I would trust a connection that can be easily replaced over a molded one. RC craft are very high stress for connectors.

In hindsight I'd do XT60s, you don't need the amperage handling but they are much easier to solder.
Those are huge connectors. I would want thing low profile that you don't feel thru the material or if a bcd strap is push on it that it doesn't cause a sore spot

Just a quick update, I have spent the last week meeting with various manufacturers relating to this project, and things are progressing.

As an aside, I bumped into another diver today in an airport, and we were talking about heated undersuits, he uses a 12v system from Europe and mentioned that when he gets a small leak in his drysuit the 12v "tingles" start and rapidly become unbearable and he has to turn the system off.

That's not a thing...

Which brand? I mean Europe is big, many manifuctures. Also a damage is possible...

I have got ‘tingles’ before from my 12V heated undergarments - specifically the heated socks, which have quite a lot of use, if they get wet. I can turn the system on and off using the battery and feel the mild electric current in my feet.

Interesting. Do your socks have a specific heat pad built in or is the heating more generalised throughout the sock?

It’s a heating wire. They’re the older version of the GEARS 12v motorcycle heated socks.
