Just curious, I'm wondering has anyone tried to design the look of their fins after they bought one. By that I mean painting colours, patterns or stickers onto your fins.

If so, does anyone know what kind of paint/stickers I need to get so that it doesn't come off under water?

I know this sounds stupid, but I'm pretty sure there's someone out there who would want their gears to look different from other divers, just like me.

Cheers.

You might ask on a freediver board, some paint camo. patterns on their fins.

You can find limited colors with "Brite Mark" paint pens. They fade after a bit, but make your fins stand out. I got one of these pens at my LDS and use it to mark my fins for when I'm on board a big dive boat. Should someone grab them, it's easy for me to recognize them from a distance. Stickers can rub or fall off into the reef, so they are not my choice. If I were able to draw I would love to put big nasty teeth on my fins. It would give those territorial ling cod something to think about before putting the bite on...

Is "Brite Mark" a brand name? And is it some sort of oil-based paint pens? Actualy could I just use any kind of oil paints to paint my fins? Would that work?

You can use the colorful zip ties. They are plastic and don't fade too quickly and don't come apart...they are cheap...and you can put as many or as few as you want to help you distinquish your fins.

Aloha

You could also get funky looking fins to start with! I'm not too worried about someone else picking up my bright blue Force Fins! :-)
