It's not a trip report; it's a teaser.
I'm sure you have one or two more details in your bag. The rates for example; how to get there; the viz etc etc...

And now give us the real thing baby

Hi, cost of 12 days diving 3 boat dives per day--unlimited shore dives,then 3 days in Singapore--including transfers and food--not singapore = £1995 from explorers.com

visibility-- quite good most of the time--dives at different venues--big walls----coral gardens--big fish
I thought it was great value
The service we received at resort-- excellent--you did not lift a tank--or fit your own regs on--unless you insisted
great food and lots of it

1700 for non diver. Might be cheaper without singapore stop

How do you get there? London Singapoere first; and then?

the best international connection would be via Singapore, then onward to Balikpapan on Silkair, followed by domestic Kalstar to Berau.

There is only a 1 hr transit in Balikpapan. The resort will take care of your connecting flight to Berau and the resort staff will meet u at the Balikpapan airport.

How about travelling to World's best diving spot ( rank by National Geograpic) in Sipadan Malaysia, located in one part of Borneo Island. I got to know an operator offering a budget accommodation and their motto is 'WHERE ONLY DIVING MATTERS' for those who are intrested may get more information from their website at www.bahrmansipadan.com , I belive they are offering the cheapest diving package in town and run by an experience MSDT.

no offense but i rate Derawan/Sangalaki/Maratua/Kakaban better than Sipadan/Mabul/Kapalai

Besides, from Singapore, i can reach Derawan in one day whereas Sipadan requires an overnite stay in KK.

Those times when u could stay on Sipdan Island, the diving was excellent because one of the world's best wall dive was actually a beach dive :)

For international travellers, prob Sipadan a little easier / cheaper getting to

Sipadan = home-KL-Tawau (Airasia) or home-KL-KK-Tawau
Derawan = home-singapore-balikpapan-berau

Malaysia Airlines can take u all the way from home to Tawau. Singapore Airlines can only take you to Balikpapan, from which u connect via domestic airline.

Kthan, as you seem to know those places, would you stay in Sangalaki? Derawan?Nabucco?Maratua? What is the best moment of the year to go there?

Could the mods do something with Xsnye Bahrmansipadan? the guy works /owns the place...I don'tmind as long as it is precised that it is a commercial information and not just the advice of a diver. That way it is not disapropriate; it is simply volontary dishonnest.
