Has anyone tried one? They appear to contract
as your wet suit compresses. I could really
use something like that. If they work.

Any opinions??

You live in Michigan and you're still diving a wetsuit

Shame.

Oh, its called "retighten weight belt once underwater".

as much as I appreciate your sympathy
I stay perfectly warm in a 7mil wet suit.
My problem is that I get too hot in that
suit.
Last summer I went down 100' to the deck
of a wreck and my weight belt went 104' to
the deck as well. Pulling it back up didn't work
so I had to open the belt and of course couldn't
get it back in the slot again. Thats why I would
like a depth compensating belt if they work.

I'm not....svelt:D

I've not tried the compensating belt.

When I need to wear a weight, I use an Andy's harness. Essentially, its a weight belt with shoulder straps.

It has four velcro pockets. It will accept soft or hard weight (I've used both).

It can't fall down and can be easily adjusted. It will stay around your waist even if your waist is larger than your hips.

Weight can be dropped sequentially for less than ballistic emergency buoyant ascents.

Overall, I like it.

I have one and use it on my soft-pouch belt.

It absolutely does work.

When you put it on you pull the buckle over as far as you can on the surface, extending the spring as far as it can be extended.

When you decend, it will contract back inward, but won't come off.

I haven't had a problem with my weight belt getting loose since I put the DC buckle on mine.

Never heard of them! I hate weight belts. I'd like some info though..........

DUI makes a nice system that can be ditched individually and adjusted to ride anywhere you like it.

weight harness

easy to make if you don't want to spend the 90 bucks.
