I came back from Belize last Saturday 10th of July on an AA flight and paid the departure tax. It was quite unpleasant sweating like a racehorse while waiting to check in for half an hour. To be fair, it was only 8:30AM but still very humid and hot to lug around luggage.
They still charge the gigantic $40 departure tax early in the morning and some of it could be used for air conditioning?
