Apparently Venice beach experienced only minor erosion due to hurrican Dennis (lost about 10% of the sand they just dumped there). Other restoration projects were hit harder, including Stump pass (on the north end of Boca Grande Pass).

I bet the sand missing from Venice beach will end up in the internal waterways that they're having to dredge anyway because of sand buildup.

I wonder if the restoration project will outlast hurricane season. I hope not.
