Man the amount of times I was fiddling with a rope or some lanyard in 0 vis and banged my knees on the bottom is..... unfortunate and embarrassing.
I dive as close to being neutral as I can and can only remember being a lawn dart once. We were told a buoy was in 80FFW. That wasn't the right buoy. It was in Hudson Grotto, with derepmet visibility, and we soon learned it was in only 50ft. We were mired in 2ft of sulfur smelling silt. Yeesh.

Pure entertainment. What I learned yesterday you have known for years. I was not paying attention to my environment as I quickly dropped in. Did not intend to confuse you. I have only been diving since June.
Here is why the video provided me with only confusion:
Clearly two divers were involved: the one seen and the one making the video.
No depth information is available, except that the two divers are not at the same depth.
I don't even know if "you" are the diver in the picture, or the one making the video.
So, even with your partial explanation, the video only confuses.

I think he was using a GoPro on a stick.

The diver has landed :grouphug2:

I’m amazed they posed that.

One diver, me. Depth was 19ft. Sorry for the confusion.

For those that are confused, there was a video (now deleted) of a diver starting the decent. Looked like an experienced person. And they don't compensate (fast enough) for the volume reduction in air as the pressure (depth) increases. They plow into the mud at the bottom of what looks like a lake.

It's safer to plow into the bottom at 19' than it is to cork from 19'.

Let's not get too excited. The OP is a fairly new diver, decided to post something for fun. Unfortunately people overreacted. Hopefully the OP will not be intimidated to post in the future, but learn to ignore the SB curmudgeons. Dive safe, dive often, and have fun.

I actually like the video. Got a decent laugh out of punching the mud at the bottom.
We have all done it. Even the best didn't start as the best and have done it.

Though many would have you think they can walk on water. :D

I appoligize for the confusing post. Deleted to not cause more harm.
OK - NOW I'm ocnfused without context.
