Long shot but:

I’m looking for a first set of fins and have heard nothing but good stories about the deep6 eddy fins. But they are not available in Europe. Are there any good alternatives with the same characteristics? I’ve heard of the OMS slipstreams and tecline lightjet, are they any good? I only use the frog kick and very very rarely flutter kicks. Diving 5mm full suit.

Otherwise is anyone selling them in the European Union?

the deep6 eddy fins in size Large (Using size 8 cressi korsor 5mm boots). Preferably in black but open to other colours as well! :) Looking for sellers in Europe if there are any!

I already own the deep6 excursion computer but unfortunately shipping and import tax are killer to the Netherlands. I recall paying 70$ shipping + 95€ import tax :( still the computer was really good value for money.

If you look at photos of the Tecline Lightjet you mentioned... they look so extremely similar that i'm almost sure they come from the same OEM and/or even the same mold with a changed logo.
If the material and stiffness is exactly the same i don't know, but the weight is also very similar.

Should be worth a try to order them. Only downside is that they don't come in orange. :D

A lot of NA products are little overhyped on SB

Slipstreams work great in a wetsuit and it’s my main fin when diving. A brand new pair costs a dumb amount of money for a molded piece of rubber, so you can just get any second hand pair to be honest.

Another option, is a non branded knock off of UTD fin that can be purchased on Amazon for less than 90usd. It’s much smaller which comes with one advantage (takes less room when travelling) and a disadvantage (I found that that the strength of the kick is much weaker compared to slipstreams).

So If I were diving against a current with a bunch of tanks hanging off me, then slipstreams. If it’s a chill dive, then UTD knock off.

@ChernoJP I am currently working on setting up EU distribution through a few distributors in different parts.

You can also contact Demis Farrugia in Malta, as he may have some for sale.

@Duglum The techline fins are extremely soft and floppy compared to ours, they managed to copy our design, but not the proper material stiffness. Plus.. the added bonus of you get to have the original if you get ours.

@LandonL Oh i have yours.. in fact even the old version without the hole. And i love them.
But it was an absolute expensive pain to get them here.

Was hoping that i could recommend the LightJets to people that ask me about my fins.. but if they are much softer that would suck.

dive rite XT if you want stiff and length isn't an issue

or maybe scubapro go sport gorilla if you need something a little shorter

The go sport gorilla sadly have a lot less blade surface and they are also rather wobbly.
They are nice for what they are, but they can't compete with a proper jet fin style sadly.

I'm using OMS Slipstreams. They are "ok", but a stiffer fin would be nicer. Tecline Lightjets are also floppy.

If you end up wanting slipstreams buying second hand is the best way.

@LandonL great to hear about upcoming EU distribution!

@runsongas How do you like Dive Rite XT for frog & backward kick? As compared to e.g. Slipstream or Deep6 Eddy?

Waaait, whaaaat ? Been scouting Eddy for ages but once you add shipping and EU customs/VAT then its like 400+ USD a pair...
Any clue when these might show up at the said distributors?
