How do you choose between the different models? Buying my first BC. Also, can you choose the color scheme?

Well, the first thing you have to do is calculate the lift. IIRC, Tobin has a program for doing that on the website. Once you know how much lift you need, then you have to decide whether you want a horseshoe or a torus wing, and I don't know how to tell you which you want. We have both, and honestly, I've dived them both, and they dive so similarly to me that I can't come up with a reason to prefer one over the other.
I don't think there are a lot of color options. I know you can get the wings in bright pink, or in the black with the orange embroidery (which I think is pretty, myself). Tobin (cool-hardware52) would be the one to ask. DSS actually has a subforum here on SB where you can post questions, too.

Just call Tobin, he'll tell you what to buy. I just love color questions, that's all that is left. And of course, what color is your Back plate and your webbing ? How about your wetsuit, any accents, like lots of yellow or blue ?

I'd be happy to make a recommendation. Required lift is primarily a function of the buoyancy of your exposure suit.
Keep in mind that the main reason we use BC or Buoyancy Compensators is to Compensate for the change in the buoyancy of our exposure suits.
If you can provide me with:
The type of exposure suit your use (most buoyant suit if you use more than one)
Current BC, jacket type or ?
Cylinder used i.e. al 80 or steel tank etc. Please be as specific as possible.
Total ballast carried.
For example "With an al 80 and well padded jacket bc, in my 7mm suit I need 26 lbs of total lead"
With this info I can estimate the buoyancy of your suit.

I'm in the process of getting my first set of gear after renting for awhile, so sorry if my info is a bit vague.

Looking at buying a new wet suit, so I'm honestly not sure. A 10mm on the chest with 7mm at the extremities is the most likely. There is a small chance of 14/7.
Current BC, jacket type or ?
I've been renting. Back inflate. Zeagle of some kind. Relatively sure it's a Stiletto.

Aluminum 80s. I've got one standard size and one of the shorter fatter kinds.
Total ballast carried.
About 14 or 16 lbs in freshwater.
The LDS recommended the Torus 26 as what most people in the area dive. Though I like the easier tank valve access advertised for the LCD. I just feel more comfortable if I can reach back and manipulate the valve...

My wings are a camo motif (singles and doubles) and my buddies ALWAYS can figure out who I am under water.

Tobin is a great guy! He helped me and ive been very satisfied! His products are very durable as well. I highly recommend DSS!

My suggestion is to buy your exposure suit first. Wing selection is mostly a function of the buoyancy of your wetsuit.
If you really end up with a 14 mm wetsuit you could very well need a wing larger than a 26.
I'd be happy to walk you through how I size wings. Once you have that info requirement to know the buoyancy of your suit will be clear.
