Hey guys (gals) -

I am looking for a good instructor that can teach me decompression / extended range stuff.

Preferably not GUE.

Do you know of anyone in the Orlando area? I found a few in N. FL and in the Keys. Sort of a haul....

Hal Watts 40 Fathoms should be less than 2 hrs away.I believe he has a shop in O-town somewhere.PM Pete(NetDoc) He has the scoop I believe.

Well that's about as far from GUE as you can get.

Hal Watts (Mr Scuba), does know his stuff, but alas has sold his shop in O-town. I am planning to take his deep air course (I am currently studying the manual) before I move into decompression. Herb Sugden is great instructor in our area and you can reach him @ (407) 880-7215. I would avoid Kieth at the "Dive Station" for reasons that I will keep to myself.

but I have committed to Hal's deep air class first. I think I want to do cavern before it as well, so it might be fall before I get to that class.

I'll look up Herb.

I ran across the "Hal Watts / 40 fathom grotto" early in my search.

Really hard to figure out the course schedules and whatnot from the website.

I don't know that I am all that interested in deep air. I am more interested in extended bottom time in the 100 to 120' range more than I am interested in extreme depths.

Mike ,I thought about sending Peter to that guy in High Springs that teaches deco/cave after smokin' a fattie.I believe you know who I'm talking about.Hal is good man but I believe in helium a little earlier than him and a little later than 100'.

I'm sure that fattie helps soothe the nerves and sharpen the senses :)

I wonder?I think he might have had a training mishap or 2.I wish all the instructors I knew had the same committment to fitness and health issues the Gooey guys have ,except the meat part:).BTW a standing joke around the cave training community used to be"How do you tell which one is the instructor in a cave class?""Oh that's easy,he/she is the fat one."
