Diver Carlos Mendoza was found deceased after being reported missing during a dive on October 19th near the Artificial Reef in San Carlos, Sonora, Mexico. Search efforts continued for three days before he was located in La Manga.
If anyone has additional information on currents, the specific location, or any factors that could help prevent similar incidents, it would be deeply appreciated by fellow divers exploring this area.
My deepest condolences go out to his family and friends during this difficult time.

After three days of searching in the sea, diver Carlos Mendoza was found deceased in the fishing area of La Manga, San Carlos, Guaymas.
On Monday morning, personnel from the Navy located the body of the diver, known as "El Bombón," who had been reported missing since 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 19, at the Artificial Reef, while diving with a group of vacationers.
The Guaymas Fire Department launched a search operation upon notification of the incident, focusing on the area known as "El Tomate," where the Navy had sunk a ship to create an artificial reef.
The search team, including rescue divers, paramedics from the Red Cross, Municipal Police, and Navy personnel, aimed to find the missing diver, with a total of 25 professional divers from various government levels and the private sector involved.
Additionally, drones equipped with thermal sensors were used to facilitate the search for the diver, who reportedly entered the water with five others at the Artificial Reef, where they resurfaced about an hour later.
As time passed, the absence of Carlos Mendoza began to worry the vacationers, who alerted the authorities to initiate the water rescue operation.
After being found by Navy personnel, the unfortunate death of Carlos Mendoza, 74 years old and originally from Mexico City, was announced. The cause of his death is still unknown.
The body was transported aboard a Navy vessel to the Sixth Naval Region's facilities, where personnel from the State Attorney General's Office's Forensic Services took charge of the legal process before moving him to the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo).
