Was that a spiny lumpsucker on the kelp frond in the first scene?

Yes. It was swimming around in mid-water at first. I tried filming it, but I couldn't keep it in the frame with my close-up video camera. Finally it settled down on a piece of kelp. I don't see them too often. Maybe once every few years.
