Has anyone heard or read about the diver that has died at North Beach in Rockport, Mass.? They seem to think that he either had a heart attack or stroke.

We also had a accident off Fishers island again looks to me like exhaustion in the curent played a role. I have the articles but since it names the diver I am reluctant to post.
Looks like we had a rough weekend.

its in my news paper, they suspect he had a stroke/heart attack.. and said that it had nothing to do with diving, and it could have happend the same way with him walking ont he street

He may have been caught in a stiff current. The currents in the sound are unforgiving. When I first started diving I got caught in a strong LI Sound Current and we flagged down a boat after finning hard in the current for 15 minutes to get back to my raft. We went at dead low tide assuming there would be no current only to find out later what local Current Charts are for.

Well let me not hijack Stogey's thread by getting off the main question. I searched thru the news sites and came up blank about the North Beach incident.

sad to hear of a diver passing at a local beach...hoep his family is well and i send them my thoughts.

I do know that this weekends weather was windy and the water was choppy making for some possible strong currents. I appears we lost 2 divers on the surface on the weekend end.
