nice.

Nice. I've asked my wife to get a DC1200 for me the next time she sees fit to buy me something. Is it worth the money? Any pluses/minuses we should know about?

Thanks,
Mike

I definitely feel it is. I had a DC1000, and had problems with the buttons always getting stuck, even after thorough cleanings. The settings are very simple to navigate though with the new piano keys, and when you don't have time, the auto mode usually does a pretty great job on it's own as long as you have your strobes adjusted correctly. I really can't think of any negatives.

My wife just got the DC1200 and overall loves it. A huge step up from the Reefmaster mini.

The only issue I've seen is with the flash. She has to make sure it is turned off or it will drain the batteries. I haven't played with it much (she won't let me touch it). But, she says the "off button" for the flash has to be perfect in the "off position" or you will waste your battery's.

When we got the camera, I was surprised that this is actually a camera inside a housing. No biggy. The wife loves the piano keys and says it is easy to make adjustments compared the reefmaster. I've used the reefmaster for years so this was not an issue for me, but she likes the DC1200 much better for scrolling through screens.

Battery: It comes with a specific lithium battery....I would recommend purchasing a 2nd battery. The battery does last a couple hours of constant shooting, but when it is dead your done until you recharge or have a 2nd battery. (This is why I like the standard AA's, but you also tend to go through them a lot quicker)
