Looking for a Washington, DC area EENT who understands diving issues.

Suffering from chronic inner and outer ear infections, now with a perforated drum, possibly due to a bunch of cold water diving. USN dive doctor recommended finding a local specialist with a dive background or interest.

Tks,

While I was on a dive trip a few months ago my LDS had a seminar in which an ENT gave a little presentation or something. I'm not sure if he was a local or not (although it would make sense that he would be). I'll check with my LDS to try to get the Dr.'s info. My recommendation in the meantime though, either repost or have one of the mods move this thread to our regional forum.

You'll get a lot more local feedback there.

I called DAN for an ENT with dive medicine experience. They had a doc in DC and one in baltimore. We saw the one in DC and he was nice enough. We didn't need anything major though. If you would like the name, I'll dig it out.

I have lots of ear issues and use Metropolitan ENT in Springfield. 703-313-7700
All of the doctors are great - I mostly use Dr. Lee, but they are all good.

I heard back from my LDS

"we recommend Dr. Mellis. He has two offices. One in Reston (703) 483-3610 and one in Leesburg, (703) 729-8080. I hope that helps."
