Trip Report Davis reef (keys) 6-25-22

Viz today around 40 ish at our reef ,reports and photo from the Duane stated you were able to see the dive boat from the wreck in no current
water temp 83
bit of current
6 goldentail morays
school of 75 thick jacks hunting on the ledge
lobsters walking freely everywhere at least half a dozen or more
schools and schools of fish throughout, this reef has really become a fish magnet
easy dive and impossible to get lost

Many years in our pre-mini-season scouting, our lobster counts are dismal. This year, like your report, is looking so much better than previous years. We are trying to look at data numbers from the past 2 years and make wild guesses on cause & effect but it's not as easy as before (ie key's hurricane, qty active trap tags, export prices, etc)
