I spent 4 days diving in Dauin in late May and had a fantastic time.
I stayed at Wellbeach which is on the Dauin/Zamboanguita border. It's a very small resort and was only me and one other diver for the first 2 days and just me for the last 2 days.
My dive guide was really good, he's been diving the area for over 20 years and was one of (if not) the best spotters I've ever had.
Did a day trip to Apo island which was really good, corals super healthy. Got to see a decent sized school of jackfish but apparently it was bigger pre COVID when not over fished.
This was my first trip doing photography having previously only used a GoPro for vids. I used an Olympus TG 6 and was impressed with it for macro.
All dives other than Apo island were shore entry. We would drive to the dive site in a little van, most sites within 10 minutes.
The night dives on the house reef were spectacular. Lots of giant frogfish and sleeping turtles.
I look forward to returning already.
