Day two started out at 0800 for everyone at the marine building except me. At 0730 Im with an unhappy doc. At least three more weeks of light duty, no diving for a couple of days and another round of steroids for a couple of weeks.
I meet up with the guys in the river below the dam. As they were launching the boats and PWCs a resident across the lake calls 911 and complains that there is some illegal boat launching going on. I guess if youre so blind that you cant tell that the trucks doing the launching and the boats being launched are cops you just need to sit there and complain. Do not go out in public.
Lots of PWC & boat operations in the river that was only moving at about a third of what we like to for this training but they got the idea and NO DAMAGE to anything.
Then they started taking the guys up stream and dropping them off to get a taste of some mild rapids. While that was going on Bozo and Bimbo come walking out of the woods, go to the waters edge right next to a whirlpool. That one has caused some of our team members quit the team because it scared the living baJesus out of them. It spits you out when you hit the bottom.
So the two start getting ready to get into the water. What the HE double toothpicks are you two doing? Were going to swim across. I dont think so or well be recovering you later. The two have dive skins on and think that will protect them from the 40df fast moving water.
They back away a few feet then flag over one of the PWC operators. He moves into the rapids and also tells them they might die if they get in and right then the water flips him and the PWC 180 degrees. I guess seeing the diver in the water with the PWC bottom now pointing upward they got the hint and left.
They play a while longer then its Mexican Food for the gastric dive afterwards. Half the team dove while half worked on their boat and PWC skills around the divers.
All in all a very good day except for my whining about not being able to dive.
Ill post some pics later.
Gary whining again D.
