actually I have a feeling that word often means the same thing in the US as in the UK... it just depends on the context

Agreed. While "spunky" is acceptable, the noun is most often interpreted as something else - especially in the age target they are shooting for. Wonder if it was intentional...

if the bottle wasn't in the picutre denoiting it to be an advertisement for over rated water, I'm not ashamed to admit that it looked like the begining of an ad of a different sort!
