I have a rider insurance policy on about $10K of underwater camera gear through USAA. They offer much better pricing than any speciality insurance group like D.E.P.P. or DAN, and will cover any loss, theft, flooding damage, etc anywhere in the world. Downside is that claims can affect your other policies. The difference in premiums make it worth it.

Best advice is to call your home insurance company first and see what they can offer regading a valuable personal property policy before dealing with DEPP & DAN which I found to be much more expensive and have many restrictions.

there is already a thread on this that you mite check out there is a lot of info there about different insurance policies and stuff related to them. http://scubaboard.com/showthread.php?t=196820
i personally went with depp i like there policy better and it seem like they have better customer service. and they will replace any gear that is insure or if they can no-longer get it they will give you a cash settlement if you purchase something similar and fax them a copy of the receipt and some other stuff. my policy ran me 219.00 i insured close to 10,000 dollars worth of equipment. one note of caution about putting it on your home owners insurance is that if you make a claim it will cost you more in the long run than just replacing it your self.

I called Depp and am still waiting for them to call me back with info.That sort of scares me when you wait and wait and wait to spend money with someone.

I've had the same experience with contact. Keep trying or try via email. It will still take a few days for a reply. That aside, everything I have heard says they do what they claim, and are easy to deal with if you have a loss. Thats why I went with them. It should also be noted that they also cover your other gear, not just camera gear, so you get some extra coverage there.
