I put a hurtin' on the ol' credit card, but I did it!! I'm scuba'd up! My wife and I are fully outfitted(sorry TexasMike but Scubatoys was the low bidder).

Me: BC - Zeagle Ranger
Regs - V 16 Epos with an Axis alt. air source
Computer - Genesis ReACT Console (with pressure
gauge & compass)
Wet suits - 2.5 mil titanium full body and
2.5 mil sleeveless shorty (I know the
titanium thing is hype, but I did a
power buy, and I like the
configuration: sleeveless shorty for
warmer water, full body for colder
water, and shorty over full body for
even colder water.)

Her: BC - Zeagle Zena
Regs - V 16 Epos with an Axis alt. air source
Computer - Genesis ReACT Console (with pressure
gauge & compass)
Wet suits - 2.5 mil titanium full body and 2.5
mil sleeveless shorty (same as
mine).

A Nitrox cert. class comes with the computer. We'll probably do it in September or October. I got them to throw in miscellaneous clips, weight pouches, hangers, and even an Ocean Master titanium dive knife (blunt tip).
So . . . we're ready to go! Anytime . . . anywhere. Good Lord willin' and the creeks DO rise. (Unless we have to work.)

deserves a full absolution! Congrats, Zagnut! I presume that some of that purchase includes the $600.00 that our Feds gave back to you! Every bit of help you give the economy is appreciated. And that reminds me: my special fund for US economic recovery is in need of a few donations. Hint, hint, hint...

At any rate, it sounds like you are ready to go and I will look for a real happy couple wearing great gear and grinning ear to ear. Of course, that also describes Barbara and me!

Good work, Zagnut and Mrs. Zagnut! Happy diving!

Now you and the missus will have an easier time hooking up with the rest of the swamp divers when we get wet. I believe the next scheduled trip is August 25th at Terrell.

That would be classified as cold :cold: at least below the thermal.

And I'm headed to Athens Saturday Afternoon to meet some of the other Swampsters if you want to go (call me at the yard between 9:00am and 1:00pm if you read this) and plan on doing 1 dive Sunday morning at The Oasis (gonna check out some of those killer pirhanna perch).

So check in with me Saturday if you want to go with me to any one of those places and get your new stuff nice and wet.

I wish to announce to our friends at the ScubaBoard that Zagnut and his wife Kathleen have officially babtized their new gear in the waters of Athens Scuba Park (www.athensscubapark.com) and had the chance to meet and dive with some of the others of the Texas Swamp Dive team.

This was Dive #6 for both of them and I can say that they did very well considering having the taskloading of where the new stuff is, how to handle their new consoles, inflators, etc.

So please join me for a round of congrats for one of our new husband/wife buddy teams!

Good job Zagnut and Zagnette,

Nice gear too. Too bad you can't make the Clear Springs trip on the 25th, but I understand. Think I would choose Belize too :)

ROFL!!! Zagnette!!!

That's too perfect! Let's make it official!!! LOL!!!

Zagnut and Zagnette,

I heard it with my own four ears! And what a lovely name, "Zagnette"!

Well, my distant California congrats to you both! Sounds like a super successful day! I am envious! And happy for you.

Now, will you ease up on the natural gas prices during the next crisis? I hate it when I cannot use my power tools.

It was really fun getting to dive with TexasMike and meeting and diving with BetterLateThan Never and their fellow swampdiver Tabetha. Athens scuba park is pretty cool. It's pretty devoid of plant or marinelife, but there are a lot of underwater attractions and really good visibility for Texas diving. I wish it was closer to Denton(and a little cheaper :) ). Mike, do you remember me telling you about how I can never figure out those acronyms on the board...ROFL is one of those acronyms. Anyhows, I like "Zagnette" ... I don't know if she will, but oh well.. it'll grow on her in time :). And Joewr, can't help you with the natural gas prices. "Dubya" is out of control. Just keep in mind, he only took Texas by a 53% margin in the election, so 47% of us had our heads screwed on right...and there wasn't much of our "whopping" $600 tax cut left over for scuba gear after paying our utility bill this month. 1.4 trillion would have done the country a lot more good than our measly $600 can. Oh well,... (don't get me started, I better get down of my soapbox before I start frothing at the mouth :) ). Anyhows, I really enjoyed meeting fellow board members and hope to meet and dive with more of you someday.
