This weekend I was diving at Clear Springs in Terrel Texas. On my second dive, my left side weight pocket fell out. With the loss of weight I went up pretty fast, and became separated from my dive buddy. He surfaced shortly and came back. After looking for the weight pack to no avail we swam back to the dock.

Luckily he later was able to recover the weight pack. My question is, has anyone experienced a problem with the integrated weight pockets. Before entering the water, I checked all the velcro straps and all seemed to be okay. I have a Dacor Flyt Pack

Also does anyone know where I can order 2 more of these pockets as I would hate to be at some exotic location and lose this and have it put an end to my dives.

Also any ideas how to make it less likely to come out accidentally?

Thanks in advance!

I'm not familiar with that BC, but I can offer a few tips to prevent the problem. First, be sure that the velcro can stand the force of the amount of weight that you put in the pockets. If it can't, then move some of it to a belt. Second, keep the velcro clean and free of grit, threads and etc. Third, you might want to have someone replace the velcro for you. Get the best you can find, all velcro isn't created equally. A good seamtress should know where to find it, but someone here might as well.
