Hi i'am new here, seams like a cool place for info, and to exchange stories!
Just wondering if some one could tell me if it's possible to use nitrox with the daccor eagle pro dpd and octopus?

The Dacor user manual says no:

"DACOR regulators and octopus are designed and intended for use only with clean, compressed atmospheric air. Do not use this equipment with any other gas or enriched air. Failure to adhere to this warning may result in serious injury or death due to fire and explosion or the serious deterioration or failure of the equipment."

However if I were you I would call Dacor Customer Support and ask them.

thanks, probably should anyway... because i know you don't want to mix titanium(new trend) with nitrox. But i own a daccor falcon bc, and supposably should be able to modify it to accept nitrox, so just wondering about regs...

You can put up to 40% into any reg any time any material. Less than 40% there is not enough o2 to do anything unless the mix is compressed to extreme pressures. About 10k psi or more.

You just have to look past the legal jargon and mombo jumbo associated with any piece of paperwork that comes from the manufacture. I recommend you do some reading from other sources for your own benefit.

will do, i will study up on the subject and see what i find out, your point is good Thanks!

Gotta love the manufacturers that say there regs shouldn't be used with anything but air and you need to buy a special reg or modify your BC so you can use Nitrox, so you spend more money. Titanium a new thing to get you to spend lots of money with no real benefit but drawbacks like it shouldn't be used with nitrox or other high 02 mixes.

Using recreational nitrox 40% or less, no modifications need to made to a BC or reg. They can also be switched back and forth from air to nitrox within this range no need for a dedicated reg. You should be taught this in your nitrox class if you haven't taken it yet.

well thanks for all the info. Totally agree on the ti regs, but you have to find new things to sell to people who think that a 600$ reg will breath better than a good all-around reg!
Appreciat this forum, have been browsing for a couple of hours and must say that every body is great!
