Hello every one! I am getting re-started in UP and have a D60 which I use topside. I have found only one housing at this time which is from Ike and primarly for the D40 - which I understand is about the same from a housing stand point. My question is does any one have any experance using a D60 in a D40 housing? If so what is your opion of the camera/set up and what housing are you using? Likewise if you have used the D60 what do you think of the camera in general. I am upgrading my old Nik III and Ike Substrobe 150 so I have a basic background in UP but am very new to digital.

Thanks for any and all remarks/responses.

Butch

The D40 and the D60 use the same EXACT Body from Nikon. so you won't have any troubles using a D40 housing on a D60.

The D60 is still new so not every dive housing manufacturer has updated their housing info.

Note: the D60 is the "latest model" of the D40x that they just rebranded as the D60 to give it more appeal as a fancier camera. it's just marketing. The only camera changes between the D40x and the D60 are it now comes with a VR lens in the default package and has a few firmware and menu changes. I think it has a slightly different sensor that is self cleaning now also. One of the other firmware changes I think you can make movies out of repetitive JPG shots. ( you couldn't do that on the D40 or D40x "in camera").

Thanks for the reply Mike. You are right the D60 does have the self cleaning feature and a movie mode.

Thanks again!!
