Hi all,

I have a C5050 that I'm just setting up with a new D2000 using the optical cable. The instructions are only in Japanese.

The cable comes with some peices of film (clear and dark) but I don't know which to use to cover the camera's strobe. The best I can figure out is that I should want the clear film for one way of triggering the strobe, and the dark one for the "other". But I'm too new to this to know the difference. Can anyone shed some light on my darkness?

Sorry Jeff, I can't help you with your question but I would like to know why you choose the Inon D2000? I have a C8080 and I'm considering the same strobe. You can reply at this post if you'd like: http://www.scubaboard.com/showthread.php?p=1753627#post1753627

Black one goes over your camera's flash. Make sure you put the magnet in the back of the strobe and put the shiney screw looking thing over top of it.

I have no idea actually, but if you dont put it in, the strobe wont fire correctl. Believe me, mine came with Japanese instructions as well and I did over 8 dives before I figured out something wasnt working right. Talk about frustrating.
