I’m just getting into the scuba world and planning to get certified this summer. I’ve decided I want my own wetsuit, so I’ve chatted with a few dive shops about it. Since I’ve got a bit of a "beer belly," they’ve told me I’ll need a custom-made wetsuit. I’ve got a couple of dive shops nearby where I can get properly measured, but I’d love to have my own design since it’s going to be custom anyway.

Does anyone know of a website where I can create my own wetsuit design and then send it in along with my measurements to have it made? I’m already aware of Custom Wetsuits and Nemo Diving & Surfing Wetsuits, but are there any other places that do custom wetsuits? Thanks for the help!

Check out Home - Wetwear - they've been around a long time. Despite their current site mostly showing basic black, they do seem to offer color options.

Also, assuming you're starting with a thinner warm water suit, but if you start looking at cold-water stuff consider going dry -- drysuits are more commonly custom anyway.

sorry as this does not really answer your question but our local shop has certified some pretty big dudes. never once had to order a custom wet suit.
many of the higher end suits use materials that have a significant amount of stretch when compared to the old days.
but if you find a custom shop that "suits" your needs (see what i did there), let us know how it turns out.

Never used them but I found these two when searching for custom wetsuits - CUSTOM WETSUITS | AQUAFLITE The wetsuit you have been looking for and https://www.7till8.com/. Didn't end up needing them as I've lost about 55 pounds since I started diving last June.
I would also recommend Henderson and Akona for off the shelf sizes - I'm 6'2", started at 372 pounds, down to 316 (diving has been good to me). I was wearing Henderson 6XL skinsuit and wetsuit, and I can also get into an Akona 5XL. For the Henderson line, my 7mm wetsuit is actually a little loose and bunching in places now, so I'm going to have to downsize.

Bare wetsuits come in 16 sizes, so I would have a look at them before shelling out for a custom suit.

If you can't fit off the peg in a modern suit material then weight loss needs to happen before diving.
That's a little harsh, but unfortunately it probably has more validity than many people would like.

The person to determine that isn't one of us but rather the Doctor of the person in question with guidance from a dive medicine specialist if needed. Some of us aren't as out of shape as our shape would make you think - we just need something active we can do that doesn't leave us in pain at the end of the day. If only there was some activity that took all the weight off your joints for most of it.
