As others have mentioned, I am also worried about the fit of the fin pockets. For my money, I would look into getting a special pair of water friendly sneakers/sandals and wear them when you are not in the water. Any decent orthotics store should be able to help you. Regarding the job your surgeon did, 3/8" is a bit higher than what the industry shoots for, +-1/4".
