Could someone in the know post the current sea temp for Sharm please?

Arriving for a week's fun & games this Saturday and I'm wondering which
suit to pack.

Thanks!

Was 26-27 when I was there last week.
I used a short and a 1mm top.
A couple of the instructors were in drysuits...

Oh... and the rest had everything from 3mm shorties, to 7mm semidrys.

It's 26/27 at the moment depending on where you are - but it's dropping rapidly, and the air temperature, with the wind included, means that fleeces, woolly hats and long pants are the order of the day...

Any where are you diving, by the way!? Hope there's a beer involved there somewhere! :D

Crowley, I was diving with Emperor and had a *fantastic* time!

I was fine in the shorty and the air temperature was also fine.

I'm already looking forward to going back in Feb.

Glad you had a good time - I know most of the folks from Emperor so I am sure you were well looked after!

Shorty is still possible but half of the staff are already in drysuits...! You may have noticed since Emperor got some amazing deal with... hmmm.. Aqualung I think for all their staff, so I've been watching them trying them out! :D - the temperature this time of year is kinda in that starting to get a bit chilly for the people who work here after a blazing hot summer, and those traveling for a week to Sharm from the snow covered mountains of Europe!

If you can put up with a shorty in Feb... then you should see a doctor because you have some illness which makes you immune to pain! :D having said that - I have seen some people do it - even one long time Egyptian guide who dives in shorts and a rash vest all year round. The very notion makes me feel like shivering!

Glad you enjoyed your time here - about time we got some good news for a change!

Cheers

C.

I've been diving with Emperor almost ten years... they always do a great job. But then all the decent companies there do a great job I think.

I'll be in a 5mm full suit in Feb I think... the weight is the problem for me as I can only get a 20kg bag on the little plane that flies from
where I live to Manchester.

I really did have a great time! I was a bit concerned as I'd heard the fuel situation was affecting some of the boats, but we did all the "signature"
sites (Thistlegorm, Ras Mo, Tiran including the back of Jackson, wahey!) with no problem at all.
