When it comes to food, Bonaire is just "okay" IMHO. After all, a simple pizza joint is consistently listed as it's top restaurant. That said, even as a NYC pizza snob, I rather like Pasa Bon Pizza and find it to have a nice mix of home made/chain restaurant pizza taste. It's yummie! I have wanted to try their lasagna the last 5 or so visits cuz I hear it is awesome but for some strange reason they NEVER seem to have it the nights I go. Maybe next time (fingers crossed).
We like La Guernica also. It's a nice tapas bar on the water. Cactus Blue is pretty darn good too. We'll pass on Patagonia if you recall PA DIver, that's where we had the gasoline tasting filet last time we were all there and the harbor smelled like low tide that night. Maybe just a very bad night for them but enough to make me wanna pass next time. Another good one is Bistro De Paris. Very tasty and reasonably priced lunches. If you want meat and more meat, try Casa Blanca. While we have never had a meal served to us there in under one hour it seems, it always pleases. Of course, we also like El Fagon. Basic, reasonable, tasty. My wife loves BobbeJans. Cheap, quick, and tasty. I like the corner table at the Lion's Den. Basic stuff but always tasty as well. For more local fare, try Mi Banana. Much like El Fagon. Personally, I have some of my best meals eating where the locals eat on Bonaire. More charm, more tasty, less cost, and more "Bonaire." I have found the more expensive places in Bonaire to be less consistent and very much a hit or miss experience.
I keep missing Will's and will try to get there this next trip. I have heard good things!
Food is a VERY personal thing and places have bad nights and good nights so your mileage will vary of course. One Man's trash is another Man's treasure.
