Need a recommendation on where to go for dinner on my anniversary. Our annual vacation is on our anniversary and I'd like to take my wife someplace nice for dinner. We have all of our meals paid for at Habitat Curacao but want some place else for this. Up to $100 for the two of us. Thanks.

tough one, there's so many good restaurants in Curacao. Landhuis Daniel is good and not too far away, probably the closest nice restaurant. (Though a cab even to there isn't cheap because it will probably be coming from town anyway - will you have a car?) It's not real fancy but it's one of the old plantation houses with local character and we've always had very good food there.

Bistro Le Clochard would be a great anniversary place, reserve a table on the water and plan to kill the evening watching the ships come through the channel.

Rijsttafel Indonesia is quite good if you want something a little different, though I think rijsttafel works a bit better with a group. It's in a residential area and a bit tricky to find if you're driving yourself.

Astrolab Observatory is supposed to be very nice, but we haven't gotten there.

The main restaurant at Floris Suites was very good, I forget the name.

Emerald Grill Steakhouse or Portofino at the Marriott could be options, though not especially unique.

You may see a lot of recommendations some places for Fort Nassau, but I don't think it's that good and consider it a tourist trap - nice place to go for a drink and take in the view through.

(You could probably spend more than $100 at some of these, especially if you have a couple drinks.)

I agree with the recommendations from Damselfish, but also with his last remark. If $100 is your upper limit most of these restaurants are too expensive. Daniel and Indonesia (Indonesian and Thai food at the same location) would be a good choice within this price range. Daniel is the nearest.
If price is not really the problem Bistro Le Clochard and Astrolab are good choices but also the most expensive ones. In the same class are The Wine Cellar and Villa Elisabeth (my personal favorite in this class). The restaurant at the Floris Suites is also very good and a bit less expensive but probably still over $100 for the two of you including drinks. That is my second favorite, but the table setting is less romantic than at Villa Elisabeth. All these restaurants are in the Eastern part of the island.

If I think of another good choice I will post again. For now this is what I can think of.

I would like to add one more restaurant within the price range of $100 for the two of you. That is Brakkeput Mei Mei; this is a plantation house like Daniel; this one is in the Eastern part of the island and quite far from where you stay. It is always quite crowdy so maybe not the best place for a romantic anniversary dinner.

If you like Japanese food you can try Miramar along the coast between the city and the Breezes Hotel. It is also within your range.

Hi Nismo,

You might also want to consider Fort Nassau. Definitely the high end of your price range but it's a great setting and would make a very special anniversary memory.

These all look so great and do able. $100 is a rough guide. We always go on vacation this time of year because I can get off from work and to celebrate our anniversary. This is the last year just the 2 of us so I want to make it special. Villa Elisabeth and Bistro Le Clochard look perfect. I'll have to send the web sites to my wife to decide.
