It is great to hear from a Curacao native!! Thank you very much for your advice. May we pm you to get more information? We have four days to dive.

Also, we are considering the East Point/Klein Curacao trip. Is that worthwhile?

Also, our hotel is the Kura Hulanda downtown because I am also traveling on business. My business ends on Wednesday and we could look into transferring to the Lodge for Thurs through Sunday

Sure you can PM me. I'm not a native, just an expat. I do, however, log about 300 dives a year here. Happy to help.

Also the advice you are getting about the Lodge is true, but from where you are staying to the lodge is a 30-40 minute drive, so it isn't the end of the world for a day of great diving.

Guy - I am returning from Curaçao today and had a nice week of diving. I stayed on the east side and didn't have a car, so I was not able to dive the 'western' sites like Alice In Wonderland or Watamula. We dove Director's Bay then drifted to Tugboat- ithought was very nice as was Black Rock.

A news item regarding Mushroom Forest: we were scheduled to boat dive it on Thursday (8/30) with OE and they canceled the dive due to a "pretty bad oil spill". I tried to google it just now but couldn't find anything. Just wanted to give you a heads up.

Yes 1 week ago they had a bad oil spill close to Cur. You can google it. I hope they get it cleaned up very soon.

Not that I read Huff Post.
The area is around the corner from Habitat. Very sad for the Salt Ponds but I have not heard of any reef damage.
Will be back in Curacao and will see what is happening in my old neighborhood.
