Gustele, rather than miss out on a dive site, if you'd like to dive Alice In Wonderland at Playa Kalki, let me know. I'll lock the car in the driveway and then it's just a third of a mile walk down the street. Although it's no greater risk than at any dive site especially the ones a little remote like San Juan. To our visitors, play it safe and do not leave anything in the car. Oh, and buy the insurance. Sunshine

Hi all,

It is really not dangerous to park your car at Playa Kalki - everyone does! But Sunshine is right - if you don't leave any valuables in the car, no potential thieves may feel tempted to have a closer look. You can leave all you bring with you at our diveshop, while you go for a dive. So there is really no reason at all to avoid Playa Kalki and not to dive Alice in Wonderland!

I park at Playa Kalki all the time. Last time I forgot my dive bag at OEW and realised by the time I got to Willemstad. Long drive back.........

With all of the diving you've done on Curacao, you are one of the most experienced divers on the entire island. I'll join with the chorus of others and encourage you to dive both Playa Kalki and Watamula.

Turn left, head to the restaurant right on the beach and enjoy a snack with Sunshine and friends during your surface interval

Swap tanks, put on your gear, head to the end of the dock and jump in. Swim out to the buoy marking the coral

Drop down over one of the most beautiful reefs on Curacao

Ok, you all convinced me. I will give Playa Kalki another try. I know the dive site from the past and for sure it is one of the best on the island.

Possibly see you this coming week. Having a full week off from work I will be enjoying a lot of diving. Probably will not attend the workshops because they seem to charge the local divers for attending the festival which I find ridiculous.

There is a Nafls. 25 charge for local divers yes.

So, local divers are charged twice ?
One time via their taxes, because the festival is organised and heavily sponsored by the Tourist Board and another time at the door.
All I can find on their webste and on the scedule are the words free and FREE. Pay first then it is free.
