Steve: Thanks for all the information. I am just starting to research this but was thinking about staying at the Marriott at Piscadera Bay and using their dive op. The dive bus sounds like an interesting option.

I was looking at using divi and they confirmed their planes are not pressurized, fly at 3,500 feet...but advise you to tell the pilot if you have been diving. I'm not sure what that is about...having visions of buzzing along the wave tops to stay below 2,000 feet. That could be fun!

Thanks Wizard and everyone else for your replies as well.

The Marrriott is one of the better resorts we saw on the island. Seemed fairly new also. We stayed across the street in condos in PB but went to the Marriott twice.

There is a shoredive there but it's a long surface swim out due to their location on a small cove on PBay - the reef is out past it. Excellent beach and pool/bar area. And a smaller casino - I won about $300 there...lol. The upstairs bar was a good place to get a drink - all dark wood etc.

It's a short drive downtown from there - about 10-15mins.

Hooks Hut is a nearby beach bar that you could walk to in 5-10mins. They have live music some nights. One of those tables in the sand places. Looked like it could be an active place judging by the size of the bar/parking lot but we went there early so IDK.

fwiw, the Hilton next door was a dump in comparison. Really old (60's?) hotel building and slightly unkempt looking. I left and went back to the Marriott.

Just so you know, there are HOOKERS in Willemstad, so be alert...
