AA flies to CUR from MIA seven days a week, pretty much the same price every day.
I'm considering a dive trip there in May, so I'm wondering what days of the week to fly.

Some Caribbean airports (Montego Bay and Bonaire come to mind) tend to get COMPLETELY OVERWHELMED on Saturdays with once-a-week flights and/or fuller planes.
Lines to get through immigration and customs can be head-shakingly dismaying.:depressed:

So my question: how is the Curacao airport on Saturdays? Would I be a much happier camper flying in on Friday?

Last year I arrived on a Saturday on the 8 pm AA flight. This year I arrived a 2 pm on a Friday. The difference is night and day. I will definitely seek out the Friday flights for future visits.

Wait till you try to leave Saturday morning...:shakehead:

Oh and if you're on American, the departure tax is probably included in your ticket price.
At least it was for us - we booked directly with AA.

Well, somehow we have never run into bad airport crowds flying AA in and out of Curacao, even though the flights are usually full. Maybe just lucky? We usually fly in on a Saturday and leave on a Saturday or Sunday.

By the way, although MIA is not one of my favorite airports, you can get pretty decent Cuban food at La Carreta while waiting for your next flight. Expensive, though.

We think it's the luck of the draw or if the xray machine is working. Today our guests flew KLM and were out of the terminal in a half hour. 2 weeks ago, it took one couple 2 hours to get their bags and clear customs. Every once in a while I read that Customs is cracking down and looking through all the luggage.
