Hey guys, new to all of this...headed to crystal river towards the end of January to visit some family...thought it would be a good time to get open water certified... I have heard of American pro and birds so far...looks like they are comparable price wise...anyone have any class experience with either or are there any other shops to look into? Thanks in advance guys!

After spending a day with Birds on the water, I'd go with them for sure. We watched American Pro go out, return, then come back with another crew, while we spent the entire day with our guide. I've never seen such dedication to making sure the customer had a good day, they went above and beyond.

Of course, I've also been to American Pro for fills and they were not at all bad in any way, I think you would do ok with them as well, I've just been won over by the exceedingly great customer service of Birds. Just because one shop is great doesn't make the other ones bad, good customer service is not mutually exclusive.

I worked for a while with American Pro and have been friends with the owner of Bird's for a long time. American Pro will cattle prod you through in the least amount of time and give you the minimum. Bird's will give you great training and take the time to ensure you know what is needed. If Bird's was twice as expensive I would put my money with them.

Thanks guy, I really appreciate the info...I think based on what you guys have said, I will try to get in with birds first, and if I can't then American pro...
