As an ophthalmic photographer, I only documented CRVO and other retinal disorders. The first time I heard about Avastin (the first commercial anti-VEGF) on NPR's Science Friday, my immediate thoughts were how it could be applied to so many retinal problems. They even took a call during the program from one of my colleagues. Shortly thereafter off label use of Avastin began, treating macular degeneration.
