Sure. As you know, the dive sites in St. Maarten are in to open ocean, so you are subject to current ocean conditions. The day I was there, there was a 7-8 ft ocean swell which made the boat ride to the dive site quite unpleasant for some people. At least one person even barfed. There was a fairly strong surge, even at 50 ft, which reduced visibility quite a bit. Getting back on the boat difficult. I just didn't haveCoolTech:Could you add information for my benefit as to "sucky"? I would really like to know.
I certainly don't fault Dive Safaris for the poor diving. They did tell us up front that the conditions weren't very good and offered a complete refund for anyone who wanted to back out.
I want you to know that I don't doubt that you did have a good time, I just had the opposite experience. Also, information from people I trust lead me to believe that there are much better choices of destinations for dive vacations. The neighbouring island of Saba is supposed to have excellent diving. So would the Turks and Cacios islands.
