Hey all,

We're going to be on Crown Princess the week of 3/29 visiting the above islands...if you were to pick 2 to dive at, which ones, and what operators? I'm leaning towards Bonaire and Grenada, but want to hear what others know (St. Thomas will be filled with other stuff, and I wasn't impressed when I dove Aruba 2 cruises ago)...

thanks,

Jim

I haven't dove at any of these places, however I will be diving in St. Thomas on March 31st. That said...I ALWAYS hear about great diving in Bonaire, so I think it's safe to say that it should be one of the islands you dive at for sure.

Absolutely dive Bonaire! Awesome diving there! I spent a week there last July and will be returning this summer. There are lots and lots of great dive sites on the island. The other places I haven't been...

I just got off a cruise in December and was supposed to dive with Blue Island Divers on St. Thomas
St. Thomas scuba diving. I say supposed to because we got diverted at the last minute due to tropical storm Olga and went to Puerto Rico instead. I was impressed, however, with their communication and understanding of a last minute call from the ship. They also pick up and drop off right at the cruise dock, and the prices were pretty reasonable. If you do go with them I'd love to hear a report.

My wife and I did this cruise in November. In Grenada we could not make arrangements with a local operation because of the time of arrival. Since the only option was the ship's excursion, we decided to skip diving there. When we watched the ship's excursion pull away from the dock, we were glad we did not go - it was wall-to-wall divers on a boat that was, at best, way too small. When we talked with some of the divers that were on the trip, they said "never again!!!"

St Thomas, St Kitts, Bonaire and Aruba were all good dives - hard to pick the best out of the last 3. We made our own arrangements in all locations, but did only shore dives in Bonaire.
