Crotch Straps

I prefer 2". They're generally a softer webbing than that used for the harness

I've tried 1" 1 1/2" and 2".. and found 1 1/2" or 2" to be the most comfy

I use 1" and can't say I've ever desired more comfort. Keep it closely cinched with 3mm or 5mm suit. With less, 1.5" may be more comfortable. Wider probably better for more complex setups, for improved stability.

Wider straps also distribute the wear on your exposure protection.

2" I use the dive rite padded one for my nomad, but you can build one and just get some thin neoprene and wrap it. Mine came with my nomad, but otherwise I use just normal 2 inchers.

Unpadded is what's on my SS Plate and it works fine when I'm diving in a bathing suit. Not fun for sitting on land if it's tight enough, but then again, nothing about a HOG harness is comfortable on land...

It really is a personal question, where comfort is based on individual anatomy and preference.

In order to decide, you will need a tape-measure.

Do you have 1" or 2" balls?
