Hi, i just wAnted TO KNOW Y divers use crotch strap for their BCs?

thx in advance

I use a strap on my DiveRite Transpac. Stops it riding up my body.

I use one. It keeps my BC firmly in place, would not have a BC without one.

A few good reasons;

When using a Hogarthian harness the crotch strap stabilizes everything

Keep the rig from riding up at the surface when I add gas to my wing. I want both the rig and me to rise out of the water. It's very common to see jacket BC users who just keep inflating at the surface and the BC crawls up over their head. With a crotch strap it's like sitting in a swing.

Where else would you attach a tow behind scooter cord if not to the dring on the crotch strap?

i never use to until i did (recently converted to a bpw) and now im adding them to my zeagle tech!

i like how they add stablization to my rig

cheers

Ditto. My lovely bride uses one on her Apeks WTX Harness as well.
Advantages, Your straps do not need to be so tight and the whole system stays secure and does not slide around, up or down.

I thought it helped my SAC rate by making my breathing more shallow! :shocked:

j/k :rofl3::rofl3:

Wear one with my TransPac as well. :D

.....Your straps do not need to be so tight ......

heheeh - hubby was out diving a few weeks ago and thought his rebreather was tyring to kill him as he was feeling queasy & difficulty breathing.... turns out his strap was about 3" too short as it was caught up and doing bad things to him

so be careful out there guys!
