I am looking at getting a pair of Cressi Gara 3000 LD fins for Spearfishing and freediving. Does anyone have an opinion on these fins? I am new to freediving but everthing I have read says these are a good pair of fins for someone new to freediving. Plus the price is nice compaired to some other long blade fins.

Thanks
Richard

Me and more than half the guys I dive with have these and everybody loves them. There may be better freedive fins out there but for the money they are hard to beat.
I use them for freedive and scuba and get around really well with them. Make sure you get the right size. I wear mine with just bare feet and the feel great.
Good Luck.

Like fl-diver, I use them for both freediving and scuba, mostly scuba, and recommend them highly. Later on, as you progress with your freediving, you may want to upgrade to something even more powerful.

Since I wear a size 10 shoe, I initially bought size 10-11. It's hard to tell when you test them on land, but once I got into the water and did some kicking, I could feel a lot of slack. Wound up having to buy neoprene socks to get a snug fit. I then bought a pair of size 8-9 and these fit perfectly - I've never had a blister with them.

Good luck.

I have these fins and I love them! I used to have an expensive pair of Omer-subs which I liked because you could exchange the blades on the footpockets. But these were pretty expensive ($250) and were not a big step above the Cressi's that I have now. The Cressi's are a pretty durable fin as well.

I mean, look at my photo there to the left! Those are them in the bottom left corner!

Picasso black team would be my choice for starter freediving fins (full foot pocket).
With the full foot pocket fins, finding a good fit with the booties you plan on wearing will be your best bet. Most of the (plastic blade) freediving fins will have the same performance but will fit different feet better.
What is your budget, and what type of diving are you trying to achieve (deeper depths, current, surface swimming, etc)?
