Well, I did a fair amount of research before making the decision. I'll be happy to get an additional wrist computer later, so far I've been comfortable with consoles. A second email from Cressi confirmed that they don't have a depth gauge to fit in the computer 's space - and don't know if another brand of gauge would fill the space either.

I've looked at the Oceanic VT Pro (I can get a good price on it) and the Suunto D9/D6 offerings. Dunno about the Suunto's though, too many controversial stories about them online.

Thank you very much for the info, this is what I've been looking for. I did get a response from one of the LeisurePro people (Brett), who PMed me to say that it could be removed from the console and wrist mounted. LP doesn't offer the wrist boot however.

I will have a look into the depth gauge, but maybe you are right about the second computer. I have been seeing myself coming to the same conclusion, so thanks for the verification.

How has your experience been with the console? I have been told (and read) that it's positive, with perhaps a slightly conservative algorithm being the only consideration.

I've been happy with it.....had it 2 years now. Like a lot of things, I spent some time with it when it was new, but haven't reviewed things much. Had about an 8 month layoff from diving for no good reason, and when I got to Belieze this Christmas realized it was set to Nitrox. It took a few minutes, but I found resetting things to be intuitive enough even after not having messed with it in a long time. And on the third day, I actually got into a decompression dive by accident. I found the gauge was easy enough to interpret even in the midst of the dive......which sort of counts, as I don't see myself sitting down with the manual every time I go out, even though obviously it would be a smart idea.

So yes, I like it. It probably is on the conservative side.....although there is a "Safety Factor" setting where you can adjust that.

I would buy a couple of extra snap-in lenses. The ones on it trap large sand or small bits of shell easily and scratch easily. They're cheap, and can be snapped and replaced easily......if you have one.
