Now that I'm on the topic, it's maybe a good idea to point out what I see as a really GOOD inflator, namely the old Seaquest one. (see picture).

I've actually gone to a bit of trouble to collect a few of these inflators from people who were selling trashed vests online because they are THAT good. I replaced the inflator on my old Diverite wing with one of these because Diverite's standard K-type is too prone to sticking and requires regular maintenance. I also have 2 Apeks wings with their K-type and one of them has started going to hell as well and will get replaced with the old Seaquest from my worn out Diverite wing as soon as I get frustrated enough with it.

The first Seaquest inflator I "collected" came off of an old trashed vest of my own that I needed to retire. I think I must have made .... I don't know.... 1200 dives with it, including a LOT of dives in the pool (which is probably why it fell apart). My daughter's vest is an older Seaquest as well and I have several friends who either currently own one or did in the past and I have literally never heard anyone of them complain about the inflator.... They outlive the vests that they're attached to to such a degree that they're actually worth collecting and since I have this little collection, if I had a Cressi vest the very first thing I would do with it is put a Seaquest inflator on it.

Interesting to hear about the cressi ones. The mares one you showed I agree with. It has never been a favourite of mine and always felt cheap.

On the cressi side I dive with the newer style inflator and have done around 150 dives with mine, and so far I prefer it or am at the very least happy with it inline with the scubapro ones. The old cressi ones (that you pictured) weren't as good and had a similar cheap feeling to the mares.

I have attached what mine looks like

I put at least 400 dives on my Cressi BCD and never had a problem. The wife put about 150 dives on hers and no problem. Now you've got me worried - not for myself - but my wife (I purchased a better quality Scuba Pro BCD last year). Only purchased the SP BCD because it was easier to get into my drysuit with it.
