uh...I think it was a reference to the topic of the thread...

in other words..."time to evolve the level of discourse."
I realize that, but the primate dung slinging...Mrs. Harrison did that to Richard Dawkins.

Darn, I thought I could sneak that one through, but it does beat waiting with chummy breath.<G>

bwerb, I'd ordinarily not mention something as picky and petty, but since you are in thr word business, let me point out that 'bated", as in "with bated breath", and 'baited', as in "the fisherman baited the hook" are not homonyms. They are homophones, like 'won' and 'one'. To be homonyms they'd have to be spelled the same.

While we are all sinful and fallen by nature [...]

I haven't gone through every single page of this thread, but has anyone addressed the fact (yes, different from "truth") that the above is merely one interpretation of Christianity?
Has anyone attempted to reconcile each and every disparate sect of Christianity (or is everyone here a Protestant, itself lending to several distinct interpretations, but anyway...?)

Just asking.
:)

If you are going to believe that you have the one true correct religion then why not assume that your particular sect of it is correct and infalable as well?

I mean its not like it is based on an ancient book of stories that isn't in its origional language. It is the literal word of god after all, what is there to interpert? :-)

thank you Mods for returning this thread!

well... that we are "sinful" is about as core a belief as you'll find in Christianity (hence the need for Jesus's sacrifice in the cross to save us).

but there are many interpretations of what "sin" means ... i think the earliest interpretations were that "sin" is the lack of perfection in all ways that God demands of us. we can never achieve that, beause we fell from grace.

short answer:

that sin exists and prevents us from pleasing God is standard Christianity.

what exactly "sin" is has been debated a lot.

I can't believe I wrote what I did...oops...

And I'm in "the" word business... ;)

If you don't believe in MODs, does that make you aMODist?
