Thalassamania:
It appears to me to be nothing more than Bronze Age superstition.

It's simply one explanation which has been given to Andy's questions.

(Did anyone see Foxtrot in the comics today?...November 7... http://www.uclick.com/client/sea/ft/

H2Andy:
heck, i can do better than that, and I'm not God.

I would like to make a suggestion. Write this statement down so you don't forget you said it. Read the Bible again, especially Psalms and Proverbs paying close attention to what it has to say about how our wisdom stacks up. Also as you read give some thought to Gods desire for us, which I think comes glaring through, and think about what it means to have a broken spirit and a contrite heart and why that might be important.

I've been following this thread for some time and I feel like throwing a bomb or 2 :bomb: :bomb:

Why do creationists on this thread adhere solely to the Christian myth of creation?

1, Because they (we) are Christian\
2, Because they (we) don't think it's a myth.

I will add though that the minimal detail provided in the Biblical creation account will not provide a detailed understanding of the actual mechanics of creation. That minimal detail along with our limited understanding probably also leaves room for us to draw incorrect conclusions and put the text into incorrect context and to incorrect uses.
Many other cultures and religions have their own mythology concerning creation. So shouldn't these other stories of creation be on equal footing with each other if God or a God like being(s) created the universe?

You can put any of them on whatever footing you want to.
Evolution is science and is subject to testing and verification. Religion is a faith belief system. You either believe it or don't.

ok.

God is just and fair. In fact God defines those terms and His justice is the only perfect justice. If we don't agree then the problem is with us.

i have heard genocide justified many ways, and this is one of them

and Hell is gonna be the big show compared to our paltry genocides down here

but seriously, knowing you are a worshiper of the greatest genocide-God ever, that still doesn't give you pause? nothing? you think that's fine because God says so?

billions frying in hell ok? because God says so?

pterantula:
SO, how 'bout them Sox?
They're going to burn in hell.

MikeFerrara:
1, Because they (we) are Christian\

Why? Why are you Christian and not Buddhist or <insert other popular religion here>? That's the question that has been asked and not been answered. Why do you believe that you are right and the other guys are all wrong? That's a lot of people that are wrong...by far the majority. Don't you think that if it were the one true and correct way, more people would have figured it out and gone to the 'right' religion?
